A Russia decision tied to diesel refineries, an East Potomac golf course plan, and a Netanyahu letter, Oct 16-19
This note picks up after the Oct 14 to Oct 16 recap and runs from Friday morning through early Monday UTC (Oct 16 to Oct 19). Most of the feed over the weekend was rally clips from Georgia and Kentucky, endorsements, and campaign commentary. Three Sunday posts carried most of the policy and business detail: a statement on a Russia decision that cited diesel markets, a plan to rebuild the East Potomac golf course in Washington, and a letter endorsing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
A Russia decision, peace talks, and diesel refineries (Sunday, Oct 18)
At 20:36 UTC on Sunday (1:36 PM Pacific), a post explained a decision on Russia:
My decision on Russia is a very simple one. I am in the process of negotiating Peace in the war between Russia and Ukraine, and don’t want to do anything that will drive, foolishly, Russia away from the bargaining table. Great progress is being made, and that includes current hostage negotiations! Signing that document at this time will do that, and I can sign it later, or any time that I want! Perhaps more importantly, Russia is doing very little, if anything, to help the Islamic Republic of Iran, compared to what they could be doing, and I want to keep it that way, and will, unless stupid people get in the way. Lastly, Zelenskyy is using Diesel Refineries in Russia as a target, knowing that these attacks are seriously hurting the world diesel markets, including those in the United States. Farmers, ranchers, and businesses of all kinds are suffering greatly from this, but Russia is, nevertheless, sending, at a low price, millions of barrels of diesel to the World. Zelenskyy doesn’t care, and frankly, with all of the money that Europe is famously giving him, and that Crooked Joe Biden gave him in the past, he doesn’t want to end this war, and probably never did. He could have made a better deal two years ago than he can now. His country is in shambles, a large portion of his land is lost, his oceans and seas are gone, and his male population is low, wounded, and/or dead. I WANT THIS WAR END! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

Covfefe's automated relevance score for this item was 6, the highest in this window. The item was tagged with the energy and agriculture sectors and with Russia, Ukraine, Iran, and the United States.
The post gives three reasons for not "signing that document at this time": keeping Russia at the bargaining table during peace and hostage negotiations, keeping Russia's support for Iran limited, and Ukrainian strikes on Russian diesel refineries, which it says are "seriously hurting the world diesel markets, including those in the United States." It also says Russia is still "sending, at a low price, millions of barrels of diesel to the World."
The post does not say what the document is, who drafted it, or when it might be signed. It gives no diesel price, volume, or shipment figures. Earlier diesel tonnage claims from Oct 9 are covered in the Oct 9 to Oct 11 recap. This recap has not checked the diesel market claims against price or trade data.
A new golf course for East Potomac Park (Sunday, Oct 18)
At 14:09 UTC on Sunday (7:09 AM Pacific), a post with an aerial map attached announced a plan for the East Potomac Golf Links in Washington, D.C.:
I am pleased to announce that the Department of the Interior, under the auspices of Secretary Doug Burgum, and in conjunction with famed Golf Course Architect, Tom Fazio, has developed a plan to build a World Class Championship Golf Course on the site of the current East Potomac Golf Links, located in Washington, D.C. When completed, it will be open to the Public while, at the same time, designed to the Highest Level of Golf and able to hold World Class Tournaments such as the U.S. Open, the PGA Championship, the Ryder Cup, and the Presidents Cup. This Course will create many Jobs, and have a tremendously positive Economic Development impact on Washington, D.C., and the surrounding area. Millions of Dollars will inure to the Capital area. The current Course is old, broken, dilapidated, and of no further use or effect. It is in very poor condition, with falling, dangerous, and disease infested trees and, importantly, a collapsing and hazardous seawall. When the East Potomac Course was originally built, it was famous for no trees, with views of Washington, D.C., for all to see, but now, it is completely overgrown, dysfunctional, and unsafe. Restoration work will begin on the Fazio Design on November 15th, when the old Course will be closed to play. The new Course will be opened in approximately 15 months. The United States Golf Association, PGA of America, and the PGA Tour have already been notified that they will soon have one of the Best and Most Spectacular Golf Courses anywhere in the World to put on their list of great places to play, and hold Major Events. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Covfefe's automated relevance score for this item was 2. The post names the Department of the Interior, Secretary Doug Burgum, and course architect Tom Fazio. It gives two dates: the current course closes for restoration work on November 15, and the new course opens in about 15 months. It says the project will create jobs and bring "Millions of Dollars" to the capital area, but it does not give a cost, a funding source, a job count, or an operator.
A follow-up post 53 minutes later thanked Fazio and said any changes would be made "depending on site conditions" by parks and recreation experts (post). It scored 1.
A letter endorsing Netanyahu (Sunday, Oct 18)
At 14:45 UTC on Sunday (7:45 AM Pacific), a post addressed "To the Great People of Israel" endorsed Netanyahu for re-election. It includes this passage on Iran:
It would have been only a question of time until Iran would have put that ominous phrase into effect, but they have been systematically destroyed, both Militarily and Financially, and unless they change their ways, rapidly, we will soon finish the job. If Israel has the wrong Leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so.

Covfefe's automated relevance score for this item was 3. The letter does not name a date for the Israeli election or say what "finish the job" would involve. The same letter was reshared on the account about 17 minutes later (post).
